Gregory Orso

Attorney

Greg Orso opened Orso Law, P.A. in April 2009 to focus exclusively on civil litigation. His practice provides a host of family law, municipal law, real estate litigation and other civil litigation services to clients in Southern Maine and New Hampshire.

 

Greg’s legal career began after he graduated in 1993 from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He served as a law clerk for Bregman, Berbert and Schwartz of Bethesda, Maryland, before entering the University of Maine School of Law in 1994. He received his J.D. in 1997, successfully passed the bar exam for both Maine and New Hampshire, and immediately began working for Erwin, Ott, Clark and Campbell of York, Maine. Within four years, Greg became a partner at the firm, which later changed its name to Erwin, Ott, Clark, Orso and Campbell.

Greg is currently a member of the bar associations in York County and the states of Maine and New Hampshire; the Maine Trial Lawyers Association; and the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association. He served as the president of the York County Bar Association from 2020 to 2022.

 

Greg’s involvement in the York community over the years has extended beyond the court room. He has served on the town’s budget committee from 2001-2008, acting as the committee’s chairman in 2007 and 2008. He was also one of the founders of the town’s Jump Start program for youth mentoring, helping first time juvenile offenders avoid the legal system by participating in a series of classes focused on responsibility and making better choices.

 

Greg is originally from Bergen County, New Jersey. He now resides in York, Maine with his wife, who is a York native, and their four children.

Melissa Whall

Paralegal

Melissa “Missy” Whall has been working in the legal field for more than 20 years. As a paralegal for Orso Law, P.A., her many responsibilities include: researching and preparing legal documents; performing records research; helping prepare legal arguments, draft pleadings and motions; locating witnesses; providing trial assistance; and organizing and tracking case files. She is also a direct contact for Orso Law, providing assistance to clients, attorneys and the courts.

 

Missy’s legal career began in 2002 when she was hired as a clerk at the York District Court in York, Maine. While there, she became the Family Law Clerk and continued to serve in that role until the summer of 2007.  At that time, she was hired by Greg Orso as his paralegal at Erwin, Ott, Clark, Orso & Campbell, which subsequently became York Law. She then moved with Greg to Orso Law when the office was opened in April 2009.

 

Missy was born and raised in Wells, Maine where she graduated from high school in 1996. After graduation, she began her career in the hospitality industry working for several hotels and inns along the southern Maine coast. Missy continues to reside in southern Maine.
